On Silent Hill
Notes on the monsters:
1
I'm going to write everything that I've learned so far. Maybe that will help you out somehow.
If you're reading this, it probably means I'm already dead.

2
I saw those demons, They were there, I'm certain. But my friend says he didn't see anything. If that's true, does that mean that what I saw was an illusion?
But whether that demon that ate human beings was real, or whether it was just some kind of hallucination that my mind dreamed up... one thing I know for sure is that I'm beyond all hope.

3
It seems that they're attracted to light. That's why people who need light to see are their natural prey. They also react strongly to sound. If you want to go on living, you'd be better off just sitting in the dark and staying quiet. But even that probably won't save you.

4
If you're going to try to fight them, the most important thing is to relax. It's dangerous to fire a gun while you're all crazy with fear. Take good aim, and then squeeze the trigger. And don't forget to finish them off. I think most of those creatures can be killed, even if they are tougher than people.

5
Run away

6
Run away! Run away! Run away!
Run away! Run away! Run away!
Run away! Run away! Run away!

Lost Memories:
The name comes from the legend of the people whose land was stolen from them. They call this place "The Place of the Silenced Spirits." By "Spirits," they meant not only their dead relatives, but also the spirits that they believed inhabited the trees, rocks and water around them. According to legend, this was where the holiest ceremonies took place. But it was not the ancestors of those who now live in this town that first stole the land from these people. There were others who came before. In those days, this town went by another name. But that name is now hopelessly lost in the veils of times. All we know is that there was another name, and that for some reason the town was once abandoned by its residents.

On the Order
Myths of God:
MYTH - 1 ORIGIN
In the beginning, people had nothing.
Their bodies ached, and their hearts held nothing but hatred.
They fought endlessly, but death never came.
They despaired, stuck in the eternal quagmire.

MYTH - 2 BIRTH
A man offered a serpent to the sun and prayed for salvation.
A woman offered a reed to the sun and asked for joy.
Feeling pity for the sadness that had over run the earth,
God was born from these two people.

MYTH - 3 SALVATION
God made time and divided it into day and night.
God outlined the road to salvation and gave people joy.
And God took endless time away from the people.

MYTH - 4 CREATION
God created beings to lead people in obedience to Her.
The red God, Xuchilbara, the yellow God, Lobsel Vith, many Gods and angels.
Finally God set out to create Paradise, where people would be happy just by being there.

MYTH - 5 PROMISE
But the God's strength ran out, and she collapsed.
All the world's people grieved this unfortunate event, yet God breathed Her last.
She returned to the dust, promising to come again.

MYTH - 6 FAITH
So God hasn't been lost.
We must offer our prayers and not forget our faith.
We wait in hope for the day when the Path to Paradise will be opened.

Prayer:
Stained by the evils of this world, we hold our sorrows within us. Only you heal us these wounds.
Each morning, afternoon, evening and night, we call out your name and pray for the day of the miraculous descent.
I give to you unreservedly, my body and my eternal soul.
Whatever darkness may befall me, I will endure with you beside me.
As proof of your miraculous power, guide our obedient and willing souls to the Road of Paradise,
Oh Lord.
We will not give in to the power of temptation as long as we have you in our hearts.
Oh Lord
Save us, with your compassion
Oh Lord
Shower us with your blessings.
Oh Lord
Favor us with your abundance.

Lost Memories:
One characteristic, mentioned only in rare documents and dying out in the modern age, is that of the ritual sacrifice.
"Offering prayers, pierce a man's chest with a copper stake. Drench the altar in the blood which spouts red from the heart, to praise and to show loyalty unto God."
In another sacrificial rite mentioned in the same book, the victim is burned alive.
This was a more dignified ceremony in which prisoners and sinners were not allowed to participate; only the clergy could be sacrificed.
Similar to the burning at the stake, no comparable rite can be found in the religions practiced nearby.
It may have some connection with the main deity being a sun God.
Even though this religion extols redemption, it brings to mind a dark and cultish history.

Crimson Ceremony
Speak. I am the Crimson One. The lies and the mist are not they but I. You all know that I am One. Yes, and the One is I.
Believers hearken to me! Twenty score men and seven thousand beasts. Heed my words and speaketh them to all, that they shall ever be obeyed even under the light of the proud and merciless sun. I shall bring down bitter vengeance upon thee and thou shalt suffer my eternal wrath.
The beauty of the withering flower and the last struggles of the dying man, they are my blessings. Thou shalt ever call upon me and all that is me in the place that is silent. Oh, proud fragrance of life which flies towards the heart. Oh Cup which brims with the whitest of wine, it is in thee that all begins.

On Alessa
Desk Carvings:
Thief
Go home
Drop dead

Lisa's Journal:
Ask doctor to let me quit being in charge of that patient. It's too weird. Still alive, but with wounds that won't heal.

Next page:
Told the doctor I quit. Won't work at that hospital anymore. The room is filled with insects. Even with doors and windows shut they get in to spite me. To the hospital...

Next page:
Feeling bad. Need to throw up. But nothing comes out. Vomiting only bile. Blood and pus flow the bathroom faucet. I try to stop it but it won't turn off.

Need drug. Help me...

Alessa's drawings:
Something that looks like a vicious animal, maybe a dog or wolf. Above it, the sky is scribbled black.

Some sort of winged, horned humanoid, standing in a jagged landscape.

A large person and a smaller person standing next to each other.

Attic:
Huge black scribbles all along the walls and ceiling. Drawings of eyes. A horned creature like the one in the sketches. Hooks. Scribbles.

And words, hard to make out but repeated:
help me
kill
help me
mama
help me

K. Gordon's letter:
There’s a girl named Alessa in my class. If your memory is any good, you may remember her she's the one I said they called a witch. Most likely her mother is abusing her. I've never seen her come in without some sort of scrape or bruise. Her expression is pitifully dark for a 6 year old.
Something like this may not be so uncommon. Rather than coming up with pointless ideas its best just to watch and wait. But isn't there something I can do to help? I'm considering consulting a lawyer but I do have my reservations. That's why I thought I'd ask you, my friend, for your opinion first.
K. Gordon

Memory of Alessa's Note:
It would be better for "myself" to die. After all, it's nothing to be afraid of...
That child....that demon.... When I think of the endless pain it will bring when it is birthed.... I decided that, instead of the suffering and cruelty I endured in that sick room, that I would like to bestow a more gentle and peaceful death on "myself".
Why do "I" resist? I never thought of "myself" as such a fool.

The Monster Lurks:
CHAPTER 3: MANIFESTATION OF DELUSIONS
Poltergeists are among these. Negative emotions, like fear, worry, or stress manifest into external energy with physical effects. Nightmares have, in some cases, been shown to trigger them. However, such phenomena do not appear to happen to just anyone. Although, it's not clear why, adolescents, especially girls, are prone to such occurrences.

Claudia Birthday Card:
To little Claudia
Happy 6th Birthday
I love you as if you were my real sister.
Here's to you!

Alessa's Diary:
April 15th

This will be my new diary starting today.
Lisa secretly gave it to me as a present.
She says that my bandages can come off soon.

A little bird was sitting on a tree branch outside the window, so I watched it for a while.
Looking at the beautiful colors, I think to myself over again, it's already spring.
I want to play outside like the other kids, too...

In the afternoon, they came by again.
I pretend to be asleep and hope they don't notice.

Outside the room, they were talking about things that I didn't understand in a small voice that seemed so silent.
I don't think there is anything to be talked about here.

April 16th

Someone is talking outside my room.
It sounds serious.
But I don't think it's about me.

Maybe it's because he's worried about my health, but the director won't talk to me much anymore.
I don’t mind because I really don’t like him much.

April 17th

This morning, since sunrise, it's been busy.
Not sure, but something about a dead person having come back alive?
Did something like that happen?

Scary stories...
Because of that, my breakfast arrived a little late...
I hate when the soup‘s cold.

Suddenly, I remembered him.
He might have forgotten me, but I remember well.
Recently, anytime something happens, I remember.
I would like to meet him.

April 18th

Finally, it‘s tomorrow!
I can't tell this story to anyone.
I will probably be tied up to my bed if I tell.

Before they come...
A friend whom I can share my feelings with.
The only one, who...

Lisa Video:
"What is it? Still has an unusually high fever... Eyes don’t open... getting a pulse... But just barely breathing. Her skin is all charred! Even when I change the bandages, the blood and pus just start oozing through! Why...what is keeping that child alive? I...can't stand it any longer. I won't tell a soul...I promise. So please..."

Claudia's Diary:
November 10
She didn't die then, she was born. I knew that for a fact.
But then why haven't I found her yet?
They were supposed to need her power to build paradise for the happiness of the people.
She was supposed to be reborn for that.
I'd really like to see her.

Harry's Notes
1
Dahlia's the one who said it --- said that girl was a demon. That she took my daughter for a sacrifice.
But it's not totally believable. I mean, appearances can be deceiving.
When I saw that photo in the hospital basement I thought "That girl looks like my Cheryl".
Is that why I feel this way? Something’s not normal anyway. Nothing good will come of this.
But I just can't think of her as a demon. Is it my imagination, or do I actually feel sorry for her?
Why do I feel like she's looking for someone to help?
Cheryl's what’s important to me. Everything else can wait until I've gotten her back.

2
She’s just beyond this door. I don't know how, but I can sense it but she’s not the only one there. I sense the presence of something extremely dangerous, even
sickening........ or maybe what they call 'God'. Nevertheless, I will open the door. Enough of this idle chitchat.
'God' I'm not, but I fully intend to save her...
...no, them.

Police blackboard:
Product only available in select areas of Silent Hill. Raw material is White Claudia, a plant peculiar to the region.
Manufactured here?
Dealer = manufactuer?

Botanical journal:
White Claudia
Perennial herb found near water. Reaches height of 10 to 15 in. Oblong leaves, white blossoms. Seeds contain hallucinogenic properties. Ancient records show it was used for religious ceremonies. The hallucinogenic effect was key.

Aglaophotis:
AGLAOPHOTIS
Red liquid or crystals resembling blood. According to the Kabbalah, the name is taken from a herb with the power to dispel evil spirits. It is said to grow in Arabian deserts. It may be vaporized or applied
as a poultice to guard against demons. It is powerful, but as it is rare it is extremely difficult to obtain.

New-Age Occult Magazine:
The souls of those who died suddenly by suicide or accident don't realize they're dead. Sometimes they stay put and haunt that particular place. These spirits have lost their human senses and memories and can only keep replaying the pain and sadness of the moment they died. The pain can get so bad that they turn to humans for salvation -- or they begrudge humans their lives.

Newspaper clipping:
Investigation stalled. "PTV" dealers still at large. Suspicious deaths continue. First the anti-drug Mayor, now a narcotics officer dies of a sudden heart failure of unknown cause.
